My workplace cancelled our extra holiday days this year, so sadly not free then. I'll be at work, stuffing my face with mince pies instead of actually working. :(

Re: Campaign Challenges and Battles

I think there's a good chance that we're going to delay until when more people will be around now. :)

Are there any particularly good/bad days?

This is proving to be remarkably tricky! Seems to be safe if you never plan on Defending though.

Re: Tanksgiving 2017

I would also push for the opportunity to have a big game. It's definitely something that we'd have less of a chance to do compared to a series of smaller ones that could be played on evenings.

Re: Campaign Challenges and Battles

Sunday 19th should be fine for me. I'll be happy to slap down whatever points value we have time for, but suspect it might come down to how many people we end up with? Are we using ships/refits/admirals/leadership as per our campaign rosters?

Happy with a de-escalation, although would be somewhat concerned as to how feasible it is to play three games AND a big game at the end!

Re: Back to V3 - discuss

So a lack of detailed building rules probably aren't a big deal to them, whereas to us it matters that e.g. a tank can no longer assault a team in a building, per rules as written. I always forget this! I couldn't work out why in my game against Seb he wouldn't just assault the building my troops w...

Re: 2018 Tournament Points

I'd actually be quite excited to try 1250 early war. Lots of naff tanks running about.

1780 points (plus rebates!) makes for pretty big games I think, I'd definitely consider doubling up on formations quite often.

Goddamit guys, I'm only just picking up the v4 rules now! We could just go back to v2 as I actually have the books for those. ;) Actually finding information is definitely a mess currently and I've definitely been tripped up a few times because I thought I knew a rule but it had turned out to have b...

Nice report, the pics came out great. I think I'll stick to playing as conscripts when siding with the Brits and then the regular army when siding with Germans. Playing some civil war!

More than happy to play 1.5k per person, as long as we have a mission that has sufficient deployment space! It felt a little crowded last time already.

Re: "Operation Goulash", Weds 18th

I'd be equally happy with any configuration really. If Andy would like to join in then two Brit armies against the fascist Arrow Cross backed by the Germans seems like a good plan.

Otherwise I'm happy to continue playing the volunteer resistance forces supported by Brits against the German invaders!

By tank companies only, are we actually limiting the options to only tanks on the field, or are we still permitting infantry/artillery within a tank company?

Re: Flames Round Robin, Weds 11th

I think the games still just take a bit too long to play that getting one actually done in two hours is pretty impractical! If it was an all-dayer on a weekend then I think that would be more conducive to getting multiple games in. I'm happy to make Wednesdays a fairly regular thing though - would r...

Re: Tanksgiving 2017

What about dates and format? I was indicatively thinking the weekend of 25th/26th Nov, as this is closest to actual Thanksgiving, but I'm happy to be guided by people's availability. And then for format, I thought maybe moderate points (~1400?) with two smaller initial rounds and then a team battle...

Can concur, it was a very swingy game! It all started off well enough on the Eastern side of the map and circling a planet. My Lunar and an Endurance in the South squaring off against a shield-less AdMech Lunar in a squadron with a Dictator that covered it form incoming fire in the North. We put sca...

Re: Campaign Challenges and Battles

Just realised we played something wrong as well - apparently torpedo salvos that hit each other will in fact counter each other completely and both salvos are removed. I think I was very much confident on the day that this was not the case but I must have been mis-remembering so apologies for that! ...
