Re: Heroes of Normandie

I don't suppose anybody still has a set of this up for grabs do they? I see this is a very old thread but I just suddenly fancied giving it a go

Re: Pay you to spray

I'm good now thanks. I've changed my colour scheme completely again. But I might message you again in 6 months when I change back or find another scheme again

Pay you to spray

Hi guys This might be a bit of a strange request but I was wondering if anybody out there with an airbrush might want to earn a few extra pound? Basically I have a betrayal at calth set that I'm putting together and priming, and I want a base coat of a particular airbrush paint applied to them all, ...

Re: Age of Sigmar Rumours

I don't mean that its a problem for me on a personal level. I just think its a hinderance to the game being excepted by a lot of people. Either way, I've bought a load of AOS figures, a book and am painting my way through them

Re: Age of Sigmar Rumours

I think it would be a benefit to have some sort of balancing system in the game, but overly complicated points might not be the best way to keep AOS as the intro level game that GW wants it to be. I doubt we'll see a large scale change for a while though as they must have printed loads of copies of ...

Enamel Paint Experience

Hi All I haven't used enamel paint since painting some airfix planes as a kid and haven't even thought bout using them on of my gamesworkshop or bolt action mini's. But I just saw a metallic greenish blue enamel paint that would be perfect for Alpha Legion minis and was wondering if anybody had any ...

Re: Name the legion

Thanks Hannibal, thats really kind of you. I'm looking forward to getting to that book, but am trying to do them all in order (which might not be the best idea), so I'm about 5 books away at the moment. I can't wait to get there though as I'm not even reading loads of the material in the Calth box i...

Re: Name the legion

Thanks for all the advice guys. I would like to do an Alpha Legion scheme, but I just can't bring myself to play chaos in 40k. As a result I'll be doing Ultramarines. I just need to go to the shops and pick up some blue spray paint

Re: Name the legion

Thanks, thats very useful. Its confirmed that all my favorite looking legions are traitors.

Would you all think I was dull if I used Ultramarines? I see so much hate for them on forums that i'm afraid to use them

Re: Name the legion

I tried to paint a white army before and realised that it's pretty tough to get looking great. Plus I'm not that big a fan of them visually but I'm not sure why.

Which legion do we think are in the bottom left of that image?

Re: Name the legion

It's not that important in my mind to have a super competitive legion as the basis for my army, I care more about having one that I think looks cool and that I enjoy the Fluff for. I'd also like to be able to use them in 40k games so would prefer a legion that I could realistically play in both. I t...

Name the legion

Hi all I caved and picked up a Betrayal At Calth box on the weekend and am now trying to finally decide which legion to paint them all up as. I'm going from the Heresy books that I've read so far (I'm on number 14 - The First Heretic at the moment) and on aesthetics. So can somebody help me name the...

Re: New Battle of Vedros Starter Set and Rules

From the buzz online, it sounds like its a very simplified version of the rules. To a 40k newbie, thats pretty interesting as I quite often get lost in the technicalities of the 40k system. At the very least it seems to get rid of the psychic phase (maybe just because those rules don't apply to any ...

New Battle of Vedros Starter Set and Rules

Has everybody seen the new rule system that GW are releasing for 40k? It appears to be 40k for kids with simplified rules. Seems like a good business decision to me and I'm in for a starter set when its released. I'm interested in hearing how actual hardcore 40k fans feel though http://www.games-wor...

Re: Too cold to paint

Thanks everybody! That's really kind of you stu! I may well pop down to the duke after work one day this week. In case I don't get a chance though, what time does excelsior close on a Friday and do they have a space suitable for spray painting?

Re: Too cold to paint

I think my gf would kill me if I started spray painting in the house. Plus I have a 2 month old baby who could probably do without the fumes.

I was just trying to avoid having to prime a whole new army with a brush because I'm too lazy.

Damn this cold weather.

Too cold to paint

So I have some models that I need to undercoat but it's way to cold outside to spray paint, it's probably not going to warm up soon and I'm too impatient to wait. Does anybody know of anywhere indoors that would allow me to spray a load of models?

That's who I ordered with. They aren't that far away from where I live as well, but their opening hours and my busy schedule mean that I've only been there once.
I can't wait to start painting these guys up.

Re: AoS here to stay?

Well the good news is that I've pre-ordered that set of Malignants.
The bad news is that I've just had an email to say that my order has been delayed and won't be shipped for another week. I'm tempted to cancel the order and get it from somewhere quicker

Re: AoS here to stay?

So in KOW tournaments, can you use models from GW or any other company?

What is the deal with the bases in Sigmar? Do they have to be circles? Why?

Re: Recast sprues

GW have done quite a lot to stop the recasters though. They forced them off selling sites like aliexpress and then when they made their own sites, they got those closed down as well. It seems the only way to get them now is through reddit and emailing them directly. And even then it sounds like they...

Re: AoS here to stay?

Thanks guys, all great advice. I'm finding it hard to think of a reason why I wouldn't buy that army bundle (other than I can't afford it).

I don't know if you can tell, but I really just like the sculpts and are trying to justify buying them just for their looks

Re: AoS here to stay?

I've heard a lot of people talk about KOW. Do the models have equivalents between the two systems? What I mean is that if I bought the Malignants starter army, would I be able to play them in KOW and find something in their codex (or rule book or whatever KOW has) that I could say they are?

Re: Recast sprues

The moral implications of taking business away from a local store is what keeps me from doing it full force really. And that's why if I was to buy, it would only be something like a Titan which I wouldn't be able to buy otherwise. In my mind that means that I'm not taking any business away from loca...

AoS here to stay?

Hi Everybody I've never played AoS or even WHFB, but I saw the new starter deals that Games Workshop put online recently and some of those models are so nice that I'm tempted to give it a go. I was just wondering if you guys think its worth investing in the system at this point or if there might be ...
