Re: New Player

I do. I need to assemble a warband from the models first though - any tips on a good one that can be made from just the soldiers box, with either Chronomancer, Sigilist or Enchanter as the mage?

New Player

Hey guys, I have the rules and a bunch of models on the way and would be interested in playing. Do you still play and if so, are you taking in new players? Some of you may remember me from my initial FoW expressions of interest but I've ultimately stuck with the skirmish games (GuildBall, and now Fr...

Numenera anyone?

Hi,

I've been interested in Numenera (http://www.numenera.com) for quite some time and would love to find a group to start playing this with. Anyone else interested as well, or possibly playing already?

Re: Guildball league

Sign me up - I've got a team of Brewers I need to paint first, so this would serve as a good motivation to get me started.

On related notes, do admins visit that FB group? I've applied for membership on FB quite some time ago and have yet to be admitted in.

Re: Alchemist Team for sale

Sorry about this Liam but I'm going to pass on the Alchemist team after all (I'll still take the Kaiser 2). We've had some unexpected expenses which, coupled with me buying some stuff for FoW, means I can't really afford the team atm.

So, how's the Saga scene in Bristol? I've been mighty interested in it but am not sure on the player base. Both BIG and Duke are fine with me, in terms of interest.

If there's more interest in the Russians I'm happy getting the US force. I'll eventually get them all anyway. :D

I got that from the get-go. Still a good price and I wanted to buy a Kaiser anyway; this way I only need to buy the cardboard cases going forward.

It's a deal then. I'd like to inspect it before I hand you the money, though.

Can we do this together with the Alchemist stuff on 20th?

Re: Alchemist Team for sale

Hm, good price. But I've just checked the case again and ultimately am going to pass on it - I need storage for tokens, rules etc. so I'll save up for the Kaiser.

Consider the alchemists a done deal, however. Come November 20th I'll be picking them up.

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

Graeme_the_Bald - all good tips, thanks. I do care about the models but at this scale I'll probably run it through the calculator first. I want to jump into Team Yankee as well and with GuildBall being another expensive mini-hobby of mine I might be keen on shaving some cost. Col. Frost - that's the...

Are we talking about the Kaiser 1 (i.e., fits 1 full cardboard box)? If so I might be interested.

I am definitely interested in a game though - hopefully your interests haven't shifted elsewhere yet!

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

That's some hefty input - thanks guys. I went to see Stu and Alex battle it out yesterday, and it was good fun but I was left feeling a bit disappointed after it was over. I'm seeing things in a fresh perspective today however so the things I'd do differently if I were in their shoes would be to: 1....

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

Do you have any specific forces, conflicts, or other foci you are particularly interested in playing? Some divisions have unique rules in a certain book, so we can probably point you in an acceptable direction. I'm also interested in your note that you'd like to build an army that is easily expande...

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

I think that Ramsch's Charge is a pretty good way to start. I can't say for sure as I only really play with Soviets but the Soviet box they released at the same time was pretty good. BF's plastic infantry is pretty good too. I'm playing Alex tomorrow night if you're about. We could then look at org...

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

1: I'm not 100% sure what the best LW German book is but I think Grey Wolf might be a good place to start. Alternatively you can borrow my copy of Desperate Measures and have a read of that. 2: I think you'll be alright with PSC. If you even need specialists which they don't do you can always buy a...

Re: Where to start - LW Germans

Battlefront German Infantry Plastics are really neat (I have both PSC and the Battlefront - BF models are hands down winners). For Mid War Axis, don't rule out the Zvezda Range - especially now they make Panzer IV Long Barrel variants. If you are determined to go down the PSC route (not a bad choic...

Where to start - LW Germans

Hello, I'd like to start a LW German army (possibly branching out into MW later on), and am considering what to buy first, and from where. I'll be getting the V3 rulebook, but beyond that: 1. What other books will I need? 2. I'd like to avoid BF miniatures if possible, as there are better deals to b...

Re: Game of thrones 2nd edition

I always wanted to try the 1st edition but there never were enough players where I was based back then, and the enormous number of expansions prevented reasonable entry anyway.

Is there solid interest around 2nd? I'd be willing to give it a try.
