Probably not. We've got several bands playing that day and I'm likely to be rather tied up with that.

Re: Campaign Challenges and Battles

I'm going to have to sit this out guys. Sorry, it's my Mum's Birthday next week and my Dad has arranged stuff to happen on the Sunday. I've no idea how late this will be going on so I think it's best if you all go ahead. Thanks for planning around me and sorry I can't join in. I'll definitely be in ...

I love the big games so my vote would be for that but I'm also happy to go with the majority.

Re: Campaign Challenges and Battles

I'd be up for that. Sorry for not really engaging with the campaign. The ebay fleet I purchased didn't contain all the ships I wanted so I'd planned to scratch-build them. As often happens I got started but other things got in the way and that project has been pushed back rather. In a larger game I'...

I got an email too. I gave the Duke's address (which is also my home address of course). This could be interesting.

Sorry to hear that mate. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we will keep a seat warm for you and you're welcome to rejoin whenever you're able.
I hope everything is alright and that we'll see you at the Duke for other games and/or a pint and a chat.

Re: Back to V3 - discuss

I think there are far more reasons to keep V4 over V3 than not (particularly as a Soviet player :D). There are clearly some issues with points for most units. Some things have been heavily nerfed with the rules changes but their points have not yet been adjusted to reflect this. There are clearly so...

The 25th is no good for CJ and I (off to watch Wales vs New Zealand) and the 26th might well see us both too hungover to play.

Re: FoW - New Player

I discovered last week that a list of Shermans tends to blow up easy, though that may have had something to do with Stu's "Tiger Killer" main guns :D ) It wasn't a fair fight. T-34-85s, while stationary and at close range, while nearly always beat a Sherman (better armour and gun). If you...

Interesting stuff for the Brits here: https://firestorm.warconsole.com/208616

It appears to be semi-official but not 100% finished yet (the author said he rushed it a little to get it out in time).

Just bring tanks then, if that's what you have and are most likely to use.

If we have time and you're interested we can briefly cover some of the rules on footsloggers and the deaf boys at the back.

Re: FoW - New Player

Hi Stu, I can make tomorrow, or Thursday, whichever works. Cheers Let's make it Thursday as I think it'll be rather too noisy tonight. The 40K multi-games can be rather rowdy (in a good way). Shall we say 6pm? Will you be bringing some Brits? If so let me know what (ideally a few tanks, some arty a...

I'm free tomorrow night if you are, although he room looks a little crowded so it might be tricky to chat easily. I can probably make Thursday instead if you're free. The site doesn't offer anything you can't get from the books and the Battlefront updates and 'lessons from the front' (basic Q&A/...

do you guys currently still use v3 the books and points to build armies but played to the v4 Rulebook? Basically yes. I also have some Mid-War Brits, unpainted and not even put together yet but would be happy to give you a blue-on-blue game if you like. Otherwise I have a lot of Soviets and some Yanks, mainly late-war but could do mid-war too. Still blue-on-blue technically but less so than Brit vs Brit. We do use ...

Hi Alistair, Welcome to the forum, and to Bristol. Most 40K players seem to use Facebook these days. I think those that play at the Duke often post here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1701314510117671/ I'm not a 40K player myself so can't offer much more help. The forum has become a little slow in...
