Re: Look Busy - The Italians are coming.....

Armored Fist: "It takes Desert Rats and expands it into a whole new place" So you mean, having sold you the interim version at full price, here's what we meant to do so you can buy that too. Oh gee, but I get a whole free tank sprue... That kinda cheeses me off - it's also the attitude whi...

Amazon just went nuts with the starter set

Not sure why, but the starter set (Force Awakens version) has gone from £32 to £13 in the last hour! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014TKHEPA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 So if anyone fancies a look at the game or just wants more dice and basic ships, probably won't get a be...

Well I found a cheap copy of Hellfire&Back ebay so ordered that and can take a look when it arrives.

Re: Easterfront 2018 Early War Points

Only brings me back into contention with a fairly large purchase of models I didn't plan to, tbh :(
A lot of which is no doubt old stock right now and a bugger to get hold of given BF's current MF focus

What books/lists cover Early.. BEF, Barbarossa and Blitzkrieg?

Given the earliest I have is the Africa campaign Desert Rats stuff, I think I'm ruled out regardless :D

Re: Blood Red Skies

I find the hobby part of the whole gaming world the "best bit", so I won't mind. My painting OCD also forbids me fielding anything unpainted (I even painted the aircraft in one of my Axis & Allies editions, I'm that picky) In fact it's prevented me playing some games for months because...

I'm also now tempted to go into the roof and find my Battle of Britain boardgame from ages past

Re: FOW: 2018 - player / community plans....

Thanks to my iffy back I haven't been able to paint anything for 2 months (suspects all that "crouched over little tanks painting" was what broke me to begin with). But with 12 days off over Christmas, with part of that time subject to a wife-imposed "no sitting upstairs, playing on t...

Re: Tanksgiving 2017

I'm unfortunately unable to do that day - given that I've been unable to get down for a game the past few weeks due to a trapped nerve in my back, I'm incredibly lacking game experience and would just serve as Tiger/StuG fodder anyhow!!

Re: "Operation Goulash", Weds 18th

Hi Chaps,
Will have to pull out for tonight as I've picked up the dreaded office lurgy that's been doing the rounds, so won't be headed in to Duke's tonight.
Pretty sure nobody would thank me for coughing, sneezing and spluttering all over them and their models, anyway.

Re: "Operation Goulash", Weds 18th

Well the MG book seems to be all Veteran so point cost of my units has gone up somewhat compared to my Overlord list from last week - so it seems I should hit 2k without any trouble, possibly more - whether I can keep track of and effectively use so many pieces at once, is another matter of course :...

Re: Tanksgiving 2017

"Market Garden is the 'go to' book for British / Canadian lists " Fair enough, I only ever bought Overlord in the past and am a little hesitant buying any other books currently, knowing they are "technically" out of date. I could add the Market Garden lists to ForcesofWar at the ...

Re: Tanksgiving 2017

Time to find a list that plays as many Fireflies and M10s as possible, if Alex is coming with StuGageddon again :D Overlord certainly doesn't have double fireflies, just the standard "one per platoon", except for the 4th guards that offer a single 4 unit "Firefly platoon" instead...

I can show up a bit earlier if others are.
I prob wont be able to hang around much beyond 10pm due to an early start at work next morning and the buses to Bradley Stoke (as with all Bristol buses) are hopeless, especially at night.

Re: FoW - New Player

Well I'm trying to make a more rounded force, if anything just to use a bit of everything so I can use more of the rules. I've got one rifle platoon painting now (3 teams) and some PSC Halftracks as a small infantry supporting force. I'm still a tad confused with the v4 HQ unit & observers as bo...

Re: FoW - New Player

I don't actually know how many points I have that I can field :) I will do a tot up and let you know. I'm quite convinced I have far too many Shermans, but I'm fairly confident I can put 1500 on the field without any trouble, unless that's a bit much for a newbie. Oh also, I've not got round to AA /...

Re: FoW - New Player

Sure, blue on blue is fine, I'll shoot at anyone, I'm not fussy :)

My work shifts will be interfering for the next few Wednesdays but I will then have 4 weeks of Weds free (I work a "4d on/4d off" rolling rota).
Where do you meet up, are you at the Duke or BIG? (yet to have been to either)
