I use the tub because I've mostly done infantry. The spray might be better for tanks but I don't know.

Cool! I don't mind LoW at all in 30k ... but only when both people are bringing them.

Sweet, is 645-7 ok for you for kick off?

Cool, I'll check and see if I'm free. I normally go with facebook. I thought I saw you post but then couldn't find it. Don't know if the magical algorithms got it or something. Welcome back!

The facebook group is probably worth joining as it tends to be a bit busier.

I think there's also a small game night that I think Tom organises which is super popular and a good way to get back into it.

Interested but it depends on family stuff.

Are the missions likely to be from the various Heresy books (ie not Maelstrom or EW?).

The only thing to add is that if you're attending an event or tournament at Warhammer World - it is (very) strictly GW produced models only.

But yeah, most events are pretty relaxed if its clear what it is (like your adorable space ape).

Vanquish practice Thursday?

Hey, anyone about for Vanquish practice tomorrow evening at the Duke? Just 1750pts of 40k if you're not Vanquishing!

Can be at the Duke from 630.

As the event draws near I was wondering and being a little hopeful if there was anyone driving to the event from near Winterbourne way by an off chance and if it would be possible to catch a lift at all. Happy to put some petrol money forward of course. Cheers Tony Not coming from that direction, b...

Re: Hello how do I get a game.

Hi! Welcome to the Club. To get a game, the easier ways are to either post on the forum (Organise a Game) section or to post on the Vanguard facebook page. More people seem to be using the facebook page these days. The main venues are the Old Duke in the centre of town and Bristol Independent Gaming...

. Frostgrave is a great little skirmish game. There are a few of us who play it at The Duke. Stu and I are currently making some boards and terrain for it, and we'll be running some Demo Games at Excelsior when they have their "Demo Day" next month on the 20th. http://www.bristolvanguardf...

I don't think so. Ultras are pretty cool in 30k, they're much less annoying plus their legion rules require some nuance to use.

Re: Name the legion

Thanks! I thought that might be the case. Why are all the best colour schemes taken by traitors? I think I want a loyal legion I think you can get away with your own scheme if you tie it in with designs and style. Also, the Traitors are getting some significant rules improvements in the new red boo...

40k or 30k on Sunday 21st

Hey, looking for a game at the weekend.

Ideally I'd like a game of Vanquish practice (1750, no formations, no super-heavies) or a game of 30k (don't mind points wise).

I can get to the Duke or BIG easily.

Re: Vanquish 2016

I think Dan's covered most of it, but as an asside it makes much more sense when confronted with something that they're not sure of to say "hang on, no till we check and say otherwise" so people don't plan on it and then get disappointed. It's a shame that the implication is you only have ...

Re: Vanquish 2016

You totally missed my point. You've banned the Mymeara UNITS specifically as overpowered. I didn't say anything about formations or super heavies being barred. Looks like the LVO winning lists were able to create absolutely honking armies whilst using just one warp hunter. Hardly screams overpowere...

Re: Vanquish 2016

Both use formations. Wraithknights are prohibited as super heavies. I think warp hunters are banned. I think void shield generators are banned. Also kill points directly affect mission win/loss rather than the layered Nova format (I think), so smaller units are a liability as well as an asset. So ye...
