Maybe. Will depend if I have a car sorted out by then. Looking through my bits box to add some options to my warband

Vikings have arrived. Do base sizes really matter?

Kev ... my man ... size always matters!

Go for 25mm bases for the infantry and maybe a 30mm base for the Warlord to help distinguish him from "the rabble".

I've gone for 30mm lipped for my vikings and then 40/50 mm for the Warlord

You can use 25mm ones. I just prefer the lipped bases

The basing rules are quite loose , they've since tightened them up in the C&C book , but standard size bases seem to be the norm .

I'm probably gonna buy new miniatures anyway so it's probably best if those of us starting/restarting Warbands decide on a base type/size and stick to it. What do you all think?

I have both books just need a chance to paint some minis and play. We have both rule books and a selection of warbands in stock at B.I.G. if anyone is interested and will be looking to run some events for the system soon.

Happy days :-) I have 4pts of jomsviking assembled and undercoated. Once the Gmalifaux GT is out of the way in a few weeks I will be looking to get some saga games in and also pick up a c&c warwarband. Eyeing up some camel riders

There are some great figure companies out there making fantastic figures for the period, its a period in history that I find fascinating. I can remember The El Cid rule supplement for Warhammer Historical battles, might have to put together a small band.

One of the benefits of SAGA is that you can make your warband as big or little as you like

Yeah I think though a minimum of 4pts for games though, otherwise you won't have enough dice. Also a convenient size for the starter sets

But even 4 points can range either way depending on what types of troops you have .

Just thought I'd do a bit of a bump for SAGA . Anyone interested in playing? I've now pretty much finished my scots warband and have been eyeing up warband for crusades as well.

Crusades! I'd be up for that. Fire forge games do brilliant and cheap mini's - we could even split a box or 2. Be a good platform for larger games in different rules

I've got my eye on some Arabs , the plastic boxes are pretty cheap now and with 2 you are pretty much sorted for whatever size warband you want .
