3,000 pts are the 'standard' size of games. Having said that smaller points games are fun too, as, of course, are larger points games.

One thing I always enjoy is combined forces games. People bring whatever they have and we form two sides from what's there, with no upper point cap if there's space on the table.

Kev, would you be looking for a Gargant as well? I have 4 Slasher gargants, 1 great, 1 Mekboy and 2 mega! From the days you could have gargant big mobs...

Happy to give you a slasher gargant for a nominal price- fiver? Unpainted and arms need reattaching, plus needs a base, but five mins with superglue and you're good to go :D

The great unpainted mass

Gargants (well, some of them) plus Wierdboy Battletower and what used to be an Ork Gibletgrinda (I think)

The Wheels

Evil Sunz Clan (plus a few snakebites at the back...)- note the 4 stands of feral Orks to the left- axes and shields!

Snakebite Clan including boarboyz

Stompas, Squiggoths, Gunwagons, another Wierdboy Battletower and a few Mek vehicles

The Kult of Speed, plus everything else- more Stompas, big guns at the back, plus the Goff clan to the left- there are even a few stands of ogres mostly out of shot front right!

I might have to get my Orks out, when I get an hour, and photo them.... Not all painted, but I can field 60,000 points. In a game that suggest 3000 point battles....

60,000 points! Bloody hell mate, that's a heck of a lot of Orks! You could be like a chess grandmaster, and play 20 three thousand point battles simultaneously...

Doubt I could play 20 games at a time.... ;)

When I started playing a lot people in my local gaming circle suddenly appeared with Epic Orks and gave them to me. To a man they refused to take monies for them. I probably only bought about 6-7000 points worth. The rest was donated :) It is mostly made up of infantry, tanks, bikes and buggies. Hence why I am happy to help out if people need boyz or tanks.

Next weekend I should have time to get them all out for photos. It'll be good to see them all again, as they haven't seen daylight in a couple of years :(

So I've been looking at some other armies. I love my guard and I really wanna do an all Leman Russ force but they are what I played in 40K & I was looking for something a little different.

I've been looking at 'Nids today and am kinda tempted. Are they an enjoyable race to play in Epic? Are they at least a little bit good?

Its either that or I might get some marines, I can probably get the marines sorted for quite a bit cheaper which is a big positive as I am trying to save my money currently XD

I've not played with or against nids but my understanding is that they can be devastating.

Most things in Epic are pretty balanced so, if play badly you'll lose but if played well you have a good chance to win. I don't know how 'fun' they are.

Marines are actually quite tough to play well. Very glass-knife. The good marine things (on ebay) can be quite pricey while nids can be proxied quite easily (or, for large things, scratch built).

Yeah, it would be impossible to set up a Nid army from scratch via eBay. It would cost a LOT of money! I think I'll stick to sorting out my guard tank company, still looking at about £100 to get that up to scratch!
