I'll wait to see how many are attending and what they have. If there's another player with 3K I may pair you up against them.

I'm ok for that day I think, I have enough guard for 3k I think, will check later. SO can do either 1v1 or multi-player

I can rock a legal, painted, 7000 point marine list and an, as yet unpainted, 3000 pt Death Guard posse. Things got out of hand...

I forgot to book three tables early enough so we may have to play a series of small, quick games (on half tables) instead of two 3K and a multiplayer.

It may be possible to put up the 7th table instead. I'll wait and see who turns up and go from there.

Will this affect the size of the multiplayer games then? If so how many points should we look to bring along?

I am however in work until half six, so will be over very shortly after that, I hope this won't cause any trouble...

Bring what you can. I'll have to wing it a little tomorrow night and make something up.

I've counted up what's in my bag todayand I can probably do 2500 points of Marines (i'll use my Death Company as scouts). I've also knocked up a 2000 list too. :-)

I don't think I have 3K of guard, I do have like 5 infantry companies but only 1 company of Chimeras, 2 Leman Russ companies & some sentinels. Can mash together a force of some description & shout Pew Pew a lot though XD

Great game last night.
Assaulted with a Thunderhawk and 4 Assault Marine units + Chaplain (425 points) and decided to declare 3 opposing Imperial Guard blobs as intermingled and fight them all (Roughly 1400 points and and around 40 units). Survived to the combat resolution roll only down a -1 modifier.
Got the roll!

Best. Assault. Ever!

Thanks again for running these intro's Stu! Think I got most things on lock now.

So how did your game end up?

I'll chime in on the thanks. Having great fun playing epic, and though I'm notoriously slow on the rules uptake I feel I'm picking this up faster than any other game i've played. Can't wait to get the tiny guys back on the field!

Ian won with 1 point at the end of turn 3, he had the 2 objectives in my half & a single broken whirlwind, a single broken land speeder & a single devestator base blocking my path to take his blitz.... was great fun! I deffo need more Leman Russ!

I've always wanted to try Epic. Hence I've just 'accidentally' won a load of Eldar Falcons, Wave Serpents and a Cobra and Scorpion on ebay. I was thinking of giving the Yme-Loc list a go (probably not the best place to start, but it looks cool). Any advice, or offers of an intro game at some point in the future.

Cheers

Just a quick check... are there going to be any more intro games for epic?

I've not played for a looong time and have no models, so I'd need to team up with/borrow someone else's, if that's ok with people?

But also, I figure if I don't have any models, the least I can do to prepare for a game is to read through the rules!
But I've just had a look online and there are a number of different rulesets. What variant do you guys go with?

Thanks

I do intend to start this up again soon, probably next month. Work got in the way and I forgot for the last couple of months.

If you'd like an intro game before then you're welcome to borrow some of my stuff and either play someone else or give me a little game/rules run-through.

These are the rules we use: http://www.net-armageddon.org/page/rules
On this site you can also find army lists etc. We use NetEA or Epic UK lists and points.

Thanks, Stu.

Work does have that unpleasant habit of getting in the way of fun. I've downloaded the rules and 'll have a read through and try to get my head around them before I venture down. Don't want to waste anyone's time in trying to remember what a Land Speeder does! The army lists look intimidating.

I'll keep an eye out for when the next sessions are.
Cheers

Well if the two of you wanted to have a game with each other sometime I'd be more than happy to try and run through the rules etc with you and oversee the game. We could do a very small 1,000pt battle and try out a few different aspects, such as fire-fights and close combat.

Let me know if you're interested and, if so, when you're free. I'm a little tied up for the next couple of weeks but after that would be more than happy to do it.

I will also try and organise an evening of Epic again next month and get a few more players along.

Dave,
What do you reckon? I am usually free Monday/Tuesday evenings, with a possibility of Wednesdays.

Largely depends on work, which I tend not to know from week to week until a few days before. But mon/tues generally better for me, only not the next couple of weeks!
