Imperial Navy batteries?

Postby Lavallin » Sat Apr 22, 2017 9:30 am

I've been paint stripping some old models. Good news: acetone works really well against paint. Fairly good news: it also attacked the glue, so I can really deep-clean and then re-assemble. Bad news: it somewhat attacked the plastic batteries, so my Retribution class BB is currently looking a bit toothless.

Does anyone (or a combination of someones) have 6 Batteries? I'm prepared to pay or discuss trade.

I'm sure I have some in my BFG bits box. I'll have a look next weekend when I get back. Unless you need them yesterday?

No hurry - much appreciated at any time. I don't think I'm going to be dropping a battleship onto the table in the near future anyway.

I recommend fairy power spray for stripping plastics as it does not.damage them at all even after several days. Downside is that it doesn't break down super glue nearly as well.

Detol is my go-to stripper (strange name but lovely girl).

It gets the paint off, degrades the glue a little and I have left plastics in it for weeks with no ill effect.

Yep. I've ordered some ships from Shapeways before no problems. Considering putting in another order

I'm quite well set for launch bays thanks! Thanks anyway for having a look for the batteries. I've ended up doing a Shapeways order, and I'm grabbing some attack craft etc at the same time.
