Nice. Starts at 12 but have you any idea how long it might gone on for? We going to do 60min rounds?
Im only asking as I may be coming on the train and the last train back will be at 20:49 so I'd have to be gone by 20:30 at the latest.
Might have to blag the car if it may go on late.

Can we start earlier?
60 mins per round seem a bit short considering most of us is no expert

Thats what Skindog told me but Im donw for staring earlier if possible. I can get there before 10 on the train.
Edit: Found this on the old forum
75 minutes per game & a 25 minute lunch break after game 2 means the day could look lime this;

12; arrive & register
12:30 game 1
13;45 game 2 prep
13;50 game 2
15;05 lunch
15;30 game 3 prep
15;35 game 3
16;50 game 4 help
16;55 game 4
18;10 game 4 end
18;15 ceremony.

I'd rather start earlier, i'm sure I remember reading that a standard round should be about 75mins!

Hey guys, 12 start was due to me being at work & unable to take that day as holiday. I MAY be changing jobs, I find out Thursday if I've got a new job so until then have no idea what the situation is, I will update this thread as soon as I know.

if I can I will shift the start time a little earlier & maybe extend game times a little bit to accommodate how new we all are to the game. The FFG rules pack says 75 mi s per round as the standard.

If most people are new then would 60pts be better?

I don't think its hard for even new players to make up points, couple of ships with expensive pilots and upgrades and you are away.

100pts and 75mins should be fine. Remember if you dont finish its done on points.
12pm start is fine, just make sure people have 2 copies of there list either printed from Voidstate or written on the FFG Tourny Forms.
Against my lad we get most games done in 60, and thats with me running 6-7 ships and him 3-4.

Games often last ages when they're casual as people chat and think for a while about every decision. When there's a time limit people tend to stop this, concentrate a lot more and get the game done. I certainly found this with Dreadball and Epic.
Flames Of War: Soviets
Team Yankee (6mm and 15mm): Soviets
Bolt Action: Soviets
DUST: SSU aka Soviets (anyone spotted the theme yet?)
Star Wars Armada: Imperials (Space Soviets, a long, long time ago)
Epic Armageddon: Imperials (Space Soviets, in the grim, far future)
Frostgrave: Dwarves (Short Soviets)

I considered 60 points but its quite easy to make 100 points, as already said. People will speed up as they learn the game & I'm able to give people intros/ practice games to help them out leasing up to the tournament

if there is anyone that hasn't paid yet could you please get it done, I'm yet to buy more mats & the extra super cool prizes. I'd love to be able to get these things so please with only 11 days until the tournament can we get payments in so I can get these things done =D its gonna be epic!

Nice one Skindog, my train tickets for me and the lad are all booked. Hopefully the walk from Templemeads isnt too far.
I think you should stress that having your list finalised and have x2 written down squad lists on the Fanatsy Flight Tournament sheets.

New tournament rules and FAQs are up!

http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4750

Key points:
You need only destroy 12pts more than your opponent to get a full win (down from 30 i think?)
If you have a lower squad point total you may choose whether to have initiative or not.
They have increased the strictness in terms of declaring actions and missed opportunities. They have also clarified exactly when you can measure attacks, target locks, boosts and barrel rolls (basically, you have to declare your intention, then measure to make sure you can complete the action, if it is a legal action then you must do it)
If you forget to take an action and move onto the next ship then you have missed your opportunity!
