Best of luck all, I hope you all make the most of the weekend (win, lose or drowning your sorrows).

I'm officially excited! Painting all done. Route maps printed. Vanguard tshirt washed. Now if I can just avoid level 4 death mages I should be fine. I don't reckon they'll be too many of those...will there?
Yay! I'm good with Skavens again

And they're off....spot the James/Russ

James gets some early coverage in 'the game of two deathstars':

I'm nabbing them directly from the heelanhammer twitter feed - but only the ones relating to Vanguard, that are funny or are of the best painted armies.

So, going into round 2 we've got:

Table 4 - Russ Ward vs Marcus Lake
Table 19 - Ceri Headford vs Sedge <--- sorry Ceri, this might hurt
Table 50 - Slawek Sasula vs Matt Clarke
Table 56 - Michael Browning vs Conor McNama
Table 79 - Sam Davies vs Steven Dorning
Table 86 - James Headford - vs Ben Coles

Did I miss anyone? If so you're not on the (many pages of) draw.

That be treekin

Not quite sure how this happened

Definitely doing it wrong, they're meant to be archers!

Is this a gaming table or a display base? If the latter there is some seriously shiny work gone into it.

It's a display board, some people seem to have taken to massively overdoing them to make their army stand out. Personally I think it results in a another silly arms race. Here are some of the more extreme examples from Adepticon in the USA:

I've gotta say I love the use of the converted chair as a display case! (be a bugger getting it to and from Games Days though!)

The strength of the field (or just random luck) can also throw you high up the field, or just gut your chances!

Some truly brilliant pictures here. Gutted I wasn't involved. Some truly ostentatious and magnificent looking armies too. Not sure I'd ever have the patience to craft one of those magnificent display boards/cases. Though I do have several ideas for such a thing.... :ugeek:
That rumbling's not thunder, the great maw hungers!!

I lead the mightiest ogre horde in Bristol!

WHFB armies: High Elves, Ogre Kingdoms, Lizardmen, Skaven, Nippon Empire, Dwarf Slayers, & Orcs & Goblins.
40k armies: Black Templars & Orks
Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight & Rhulic Mercenaries
Mailifaux factions: Ten Thunders & Viktorias
Necromunda: Cawdor gang

Tired, so tired!

If only they'd not given the overall winner the best in race trophy as well, I'd be coming home with 2 trophies!
Yay! I'm good with Skavens again
