So, due the coach selling the teams transportation, the Hobs had to tuck their tails between their legs and announce a forfeit.

The coach announced:
"It was an unfortunate incident. The coach was just too old and decrepit and needed to be scrapped. A replacement coach will be on it's way soon".
He then spent the rest of the day explaining to various news outlets and bloggers that this wasn't a resignation speech, but that the bus was F***.

Anyhow:

City hobgoblins vs Grim Bay Packers
Forfeit. 0-7 landslide to Packers. No income for Hobs.

The PatriOrx put on yet another dreadful display of Dreadball proving that strength is no match for skill.

Despite 2 Orx Guards ganging up on a a single striker they were unable to beat, let alone even match the elusive elves in their own end zone. Meanwhile back in their own half the other Orx Guard, protected by 2 jacks was very, very lucky not be sent to the Morgue on several occasions.

A paltry 2 pointer was scored by Free Agent Slippery Jo-Anne, but 3 successive 3 pointers from the energetic Elve Strikers and it was all over by turn 6, and a landslide victory was theirs.

Only a win over the Grim Bay Packers next week will see the PatriOrx take 3rd place.

Vital stats: PatriOrx Home, Sindarin Away. Cheers: 1/3, no kills.

We forgot to roll income so apologies to next opponents for doing that, and I had one level up - again, apologies that I'll be doing that at the start of my next game.

Thanks CJ for a fun game, but you need to pick on the defenders without Grizzled next time...

The trouble was you (quite rightly) put him smack bang in the middle so I needed him gone. But as usual for me even hitting him from behind with 2 Guards every turn failed to shift him.

A good game though, and well played by Pete. Even if you hadn't played 'Ball Shatters' on me, it would have only delayed it by a turn. A deserved win.

Well, we'll see. Speaking of which when do you wanna bash it up? You're my last opponent so it can be anytime now. Just ... not for a couple of days. I'm not feeling the love for DB at the moment having a string of 7 - 0 6 turn games.

Result
Da Pirates / Shell Shockers
Score 7 / 0
Cheers 12 / ?
No of kills 1 / 0
New Team Ratings 217 / ?

Great game today with Gir.

It was an all out brawl between the two sides, however a couple of Goblins wanted no part in the Shell Shockers rough and tumble approach and decided that running away, occasionally remembering to take the ball with them would be the best option.

Da Pirates fell behind in the scoring early, but came back with a 4 point strike to take a two point lead, which was cancelled out by a Teraton jack's 2 pointer a couple of rushes later. A huge scrum developed around the Orx 3 point scoring zone, preventing the Shell Shockers from creating any real openings. A couple of 3 turn injuries and a kill in for Da Pirates in the middle stages of the game started to turn things in their favour. The Shell Shockers showed plenty of endeavour to try and reduce the deficit but in the penultimate rush the Orx and Goblins were able to add a 3 point score taking it to 5-0, before adding two more points in the final rush to tally their third landslide win of the season just before the final buzzer.

An enjoyable game all round that could have swung either way at one point. Thanks Gir.

Game 8 was unfortunately a no show for the Gobs. With the hole team running around across the country, they just couldn't get together. One lone Gob jack turned up and after seeing the might of the Costa team, turned on his heel and ran...

7-0 landslide victory to Costa.

Da Pirates / Mall Rats
Score 7 / 0
Cheers 6 / ?
No of kills 1 / 0
New Team Ratings 217/ ?

Da Pirates sealed the league championship today with swashbuckling performance against the Mall Rats in front of a packed home crowd.

Things didnt get off to the best start for Da Pirates, whose guards were unable to break down the defence guarding the 3 point zone, whilst leading goalscorer Ozzy allowed a sneaky rat to steal the ball from him in his own half.

However, Orc Guard Crasha was able to pummel the Rats striker and allow his side to regain possession. In the following rush the Orc guards were finally able to break the defence guarding the 3 point zone, which allowed Ozzy to jump over the aforementioned Rats striker, who had again tried to steal the ball. Leaping high into the air, Ozzy landed the jump without breaking stride and following some encouragement from the offensive coach, was able to get to the 4 point hex and convert the chance.

The Rats attempted to halve the score however the 2 point attempt was missed, allowing for 2 points to be added to the Orx and Goblins tally in the following rush. Failure to pick up the ball by another Rat striker presented Da Pirates with the chance to seal the game, and the league championship with a one point score in the following rush. Again, it was Ozzy who was able to scurry back to the halfway line, grab the ball and throw it into the unguarded goal to make sure that Da Pirates, ended the season on top.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.

The PatriOrx seemed to be almost back to their starting strength, and it showed against the Grim Bay Packers. It was a game of 1 and 2 pointers as the PatriOrx totally blocked off the 3/4 pointer with 2 Guards and a Jack for the entire game, leaving the other 2 Guards and Slippery Jo-Anne to do all the work.

An early 2-0 lead for the PatriOrx was brought back to 0-0 by the Packers. The Greenskin's second 2 point lead was decreased to 1-0 by a single point from the doughty Dwarves, and a skilful 3 pointer (the only one of the game) from S. J.-A. took them back into the lead once more. With the halftime score 4-0 for the Orx, it looked like another 3 pointer would give them a Landslide.

Sadly the PatriOrx were not used to playing more than 2 or 3 Rush's before being Landslided, and their energy began to wane. Grim Bay brought the score back to 2-0 and having lost Slippery Jo-Anne to a 2 turn injury, the PatriOrx' Jack Whoopsie Goldberg lived up to her name by missing the next 2 Strike attempts.

A late score by the Packers brought the score down even closer, but it was too little, too late, and as the final ambulance bells rang it was a minor victory to the Orx.

Has everyone played their games and the League finished? I'm dying to know if I finished ahead of Jono knocking him into 4th?

I actually managed to finish a whole 15mc up on 129 from my starting rank of 114. :D Not bad when you consider I was down to only
5 players and 6mc after turn 3.

Seriously though, is the League Board (fairly) up to date? I've had such fun I want to do it all over again. = )

Costa Coffee Corp v Philaname Eagles
the costa boys had heard rumours of the nameless team had killed many players and got a bit worried pre match the game started bad with the killing of the recently resurrected enforcer.
and then the killing of espresso but the coach didn't seem to mind that of he was a bit of a show off
then the killing of one of the guards. things looked grim then the star player latte steamed into the eagles half and put some points on the board and then in a amazing last paly latte dunked a four pointer
the eagle last rush was ended after the eagle striker couldn't catch a lose ball

Result costa 6 Eagles 0
kills costa 0 eagles 3
cheers costa 0 eagles 6

Its not up to date as I have played all 8 games finishing on 24 points. Not sure my goal difference is correct either but it doesnt really matter anymore.

I was pleased to see a Season 1 team win. Well played sir.

I think the final results are in the existing order, just the points need altering. Means I finished 1 point behind Jono's Brokker.
Still ... 2 Orx teams in the top 4 ... Green is the way of the future boyz.
