One thing I'm confused about is mercenaries in a campaign, if you want to take them does each mercenary have to be a 'clearance' or can you choose any mercerancy to be part of a strike team? (I am aware that htere is a -3 reputation for talking mercs, just looking at options)

Hmmm, good question, I usually just ignore mercs & mvps in most games because the rules for using them are usually bad & not very useful. I would say no clearance required from memory.

reading the book & FAQ's it doesn't ever mention it so I think RaW you have to take a clearance in order to hire a merc. it says "you can only spend points on models & items you have clearance for." however because I want to see them used I reckon we will overturn this rule & allow a merc to be hired, he will only be with you for one game & you take the -3 rep points as normal but no clearance required

ASAP for the start, I'm hopefully gonna get a game in this week. been having some fun working out my strike force, seems like I've got a LOT of stuff but I bet it all starts dying quite quickly!

haha, not too bad, no boomer or teraton, trouble with the plague is a lack of shoot values means I'm not gonna be collecting much loot & not very good command stats means I'm in danger of losing games & models perma dying quite easily, its gonna be tough to keep my squad strong throughout the campaign

LOL, I don't think I can get anything that costs less than 11pts, if I take the full on Leader type he is 25pts :shock: I would love to have 7 models ;)

Yeah but arent your Asterians are crazy good at shooting! My crap leader is 19 points and basic troops are 9 or something. All my cool stuff is 20+ points lol

I've thrown together a 70pt team (which I'll probably just double for the 'force') but, having never played with Rebs, I've no clue if it's any good or not.
Flames Of War: Soviets
Team Yankee (6mm and 15mm): Soviets
Bolt Action: Soviets
DUST: SSU aka Soviets (anyone spotted the theme yet?)
Star Wars Armada: Imperials (Space Soviets, a long, long time ago)

I think I need to buy another Ripper Suit leader for my force to bulk up my force. That thing kicked some serious ass in the only game I played with it. The guntrack looks pretty boss as well, even if I don't know if any good game-wise!
I'll be the guy holding a cider and swearing at the dice.

I also have a fine collection of wooden spoons.

I'm coming down for some X-wing on Wednesday, happy to do some Deadzone before/after depending on when people are about. I finish work at about 17.30 so it would be after that.

Cool, I have suggested to Ian 17.00 for X-wing, he's going to do the X-wing league draw as well.

I happy to do whatever works out best, leagues/pick-up games of x-wing and/or Deadzone. Better glue some Asterians togther, that is one benefit of expensive troops, I could have a 70pt strike force with 4 models.
