Dust'mas event 16th JANUARY

Postby Demenzia » Mon Nov 09, 2015 12:42 pm

After a weekend full of demo games it's time for the next Dust event: DUST'MAS!

Who is in?

Interested (army):
-Jono (USMC <Allies>) - CONFIRMED
-Stu (SSU)
-CJ (Mercs and SSU) - CONFIRMED
-Hollywood Steve (Allies) - CONFIRMED
-Radegast (Axis) - CONFIRMED
-Jose (SSU) - CONFIRMED

Funny Dust Tactics Christmas tournament:

Rules: Dust Tactics V.2
Army size: 50 A.P.
Restrictions:
-Only 1 vehicle (max Veh.4)
-No aircrafts
-No duplicate units

Each player must bring his own miniatures, cards, dice, markers, etc he will need.

EVENT SPECIAL RULES:
There are some strange radiations and the radio does not work. Officers can only give orders directly and artillery observers can’t transmit coordinates.
There is a medium risk of snowstorms along the entire event (we will use “Sandstorm” rules from Operation Babylon).
Infantry units in the same square than a ammo crate can use an action to open it and take the contents but BEWARE!, some of them can be bobby traps.

Bristol Vanguard member: 4£
Non members: 5£

SCENARIO 1: UNEXPECTED MEETING
The travel to the North Pole was a very bumpy ride and the transport aircrafts have been unable to reach the agreed point. Some of them have been able to land near but most of the infantry has to bale out. You must secure the meeting point until the rest of the expedition arrives.

SPECIAL RULES:
Reserves.
Scattered Reserves.

DEPLOYMENT:
Players deploy from indicated edges of the playing area (short edges)
There are no units placed on the table before the game begins. Both players, starting with the player with the initiative, must nominate at least half of their units to be held in Scattered Reserves. The players will dice to see where these units (and starting units) arrive.
Starting with the player with the initiative, the players take turns placing a terrain item on the board. The players alternate placing terrain items until they have each places all the scenario terrain.
Scenario terrain:
-1 ammo crate.
-1 tank trap.
-2 impassable.

VICTORY: If a player holds the objective by having a unit on an objective square at the end of after turn 3, providing there are no enemy units within two squares. If they take the objective, they win the game. In case of no player has uncontested control of the objective, the player with the most Victory Points wins, as calculated by totalling the value of Units destroyed.

RESERVES: Each player may place one infantry unit and one eliminated vehicle in Reserve.
--------------------------------------------------------
SCENARIO 2: THE STORM IS COMING
A horrible storm is coming, neither the heavier walkers are safe while they are in the exposed.
DEPLOYMENT:
Players deploy from indicated edges of the play area (long edges)
Starting with the player with the initiative, the players take turns placing a terrain item on the board. The players, alternatively, place terrain items until they have each placed all the scenario terrain.
Scenario terrain:
1 ammo crate.
1 tank trap.
2 terrain tiles.
VICTORY:
Bring your troops in the building; the player with more A.P. into wins the game. If at the end of the game no one player has a unit in the building, the game is a tie.
GAME END:
All units of one player are destroyed or the end of turn eight.
RESERVES:
Each player may place one infantry unit and one vehicle eliminated in Reserve.
---------------------------------------------------------
SCENARIO 3: SANTA’S FACTORY. FINAL FIGHT!
The end of the expedition is closer, when the VK deposit is found the troops can set up a camp and take a breath.
The scouts detect a massive building where the VK deposit should be and enemy troops are on the horizon. Not a minute to lost, we must take the precious reserves before the other blocks!!!

SPECIAL RULES: Fighting in buildings rules will apply to all the table.

DEPLOYMENT:
Players deploy from indicated edges of the play area.
Starting with the player with the initiative, the players take turns placing a terrain item on the board. The players alternatively place terrain items until they have placed all the scenario terrain.
Scenario terrain:
1 ammo crate.
1 tank trap.
1 impassable.

VICTORY: KILL KILL KILL!!! The player with more Victory Points wins, calculated by totalling the value of Units destroyed.

END OF GAME: End of turn eight.

RESERVES: Unlimited reserves: Players place all eliminated units in Reserve (excluding heroes).

.
Jose has kindly offered me the use of his Mercs so I'm in.

I was going to buy the Merc starter set after seeing them on the weekend, but having just ... "assisted" ... Liam with his Man-Cave Clear-out, I'm now a little skint till next month.

Is my special Allied 'well' with mystical cooling and soothing powers valid for the event?

I'm thinking of deploying 'multiple' wells.......

Any rules packs / guidelines available? (Without one you know Stu will try and field both a KV3 and an IS5 (plus whatever other 'nastes' he can squeeze in) ;)
