Damn straight! It'd be awesome if we could get a couple of 1-2-3s.

I mean, it's the kind of thing that you could do if you really want - all work together to find the "best" meta list, run the same lists, turn up in uniform, use branded dice bags, etc.

I'm disowning all megaturret toting teammates.
Outriders, Decimators and Falcons. Pffft. We don't need 'em. We're good players!

I'm not taking Dash. Sticking with Jan, Wedge and Corran, but need to tweak the upgrades I think

I second this! fat Dash/Han is such a cop out! grow some Spaceballs and fly ships that aren't overly optimised for a yawnfest!! I thought I left all that meta crap back with 40K :D

I did mate, decided not to do the obvious and face Fat Dash on his own terms but tried a different approach. Unfortunately Fat Dash is so broken that its a yawnfest no matter which way you try and cut it! And at least I played to the bitter end, and didn't quit within the first couple of rounds of the game because it didn't go to plan. I suggest you make sure your own slate is clean before you throw out put downs to others mate ;)

+1

The mission is to beat the mega turret chumps without stooping to their level.

What's with all the turret hate? At Dukes, my Decimator quickly became a blaster magnet. The Defender was the real star. :P

I'm not gonna bow to your peer pressure. I'm gonna stick with my Dukes list and smash all before me. :D

That, and I had a fairly awful tournament.

First game was fine. Second game I did a total of one damage to Dash+Chewie, and that was an asteroid - that's not arc-dodging, that's blank attack dice (with seven tie shots, focus and rerolls on at least two consecutive turns)

Third game was against a phantom swarm, so it's already a bad matchup - I was just far too lenient. I allowed him to not fly off the board when I had the chance, and let him ACD when he didn't declare the action more than once. I still managed to kill the Sigma, get Whisper on one hull and Echo on no shields - so nine cloaked phantom hits was pretty good going I think.

Having lost game two stupidly, there wasn't any chance of getting into the top four cut-off (as it was at the time), so I didn't really care by that point. Bleh.

Ah grim man. You really should have flown him off the board. It's what you get for not placing a maneuver dial

Do you think you will still stick with the Tie swarm?

I should, it's my fault really.

It really upset me to get the bad run against Dash - I was probably (aside from Ian) one of the worst match-ups for the Dash builds there, and there were, what, five of them?

I was planning on doing an eight tie swarm this tournament, and I might go back to that. I didn't have anything like the board control I've been accustomed to with the seven I ran today (i.e., a block of six+flanker).

So... I don't know. I still think it's viable - and for my worst matchup to be that close (he did spend *half an hour* just running away from me) was a pretty good sign I think.
