might be worth looking at twin rooms as a single is from £66 per night & a twin is from £99 per night. Or looking at alternative accommodation in the local area. Best to get booked up soon though otherwise we might be struggling for any accommodation at all!

Edit; Just had a look on the Hilton website, it is actually £333 for 3 nights in a twin room, no singles available by the looks of it (they didn't come up in the search) so £165ish each for the 3 nights. Will look for alternatives as well but I don't know the area at all

Edit 2; Premier Inn ( http://www.premierinn.com/en/checkHotel ... ec/airport ) is £105 per room for 3 nights & is very close to the venue. The venue is also very close to the motorway & the train station.

I reckon I'll drive up with my girlfriend and stay at her mums which is 30 mins or so away from the NEC.

I realistically think this is a no go for me this year. May is the worst month at the best of times.

Sounds awesome, but doubt I'll be able to. It would probably cost more making the missus happy than attending!!

How come the tournament season finishes in May? It just seems needlessly crammed into half the year! Spreading stuff out would make life so much easier.

Edit, the talk with the boss went well. I'm up for this! I'd only stay one night max though. Possibly even commute both days...

I'd be tempted to drive up and sleep in the car.
Although I'd like to go for the 3 days it would have to be blagged with the wife and start saving for accommodation. I'd probably need at least a minimum of £200 for the weekend.
