Loss of club identity. It happened before at the Cut & Thrust shop.

Do they have terrain suitable for infinity at BIG anyway?

Apparently they have plenty of big buildings we can use, although scatter terrain may be an issue. I haven't been to the store myself to check it out.

Went to an Infinity event in Exeter this weekend and played with lots of the new rules, N3 is going to be seriously sweet. Hopefully books will be arriving in the next couple of weeks! :D

Morats are getting a rules overhaul, they are no longer affected by Loss of Lieutenant or retreat at all! They will be properly taking their place as the universe's badasses.

Honestly? Ask me again in a fortnight's time! All the units will be getting profile overhauls to bring them into line with N3 rules/units so we don't really know what the landscape of the game is going to be like.

Morats are also all being resculpted at the moment so if you only want the newer models (and who would blame you?) then you may be looking at a fairly slow release schedule with lots of proxying. However that may be good if you don't want to shell out much money at once. The only 'new' Morats currently out are:

Starter Pack
Vanguards with heavy weapons
Daturazi
Suryat
Raktorak
Kornak Gazarot

You get a Raktorak in the starter anyway so I wouldn't recommend that to begin with, and you are unlikely to use 4 Daturazi in small games. So I'd start with the Starter box and the Suryat or Kornak Gazrot. Then eventually pick up the heavy weapons box for the Morats so you can field 5 man links.

Any info on changes to Haqq (Bahram more specifically). I'm hoping farzans will be more useful this time around.

Farzans more useful? They are already Camouflaged, Infiltrating, Chain of Command (or forward observer) troops, what more do you want? :D

Actually, Boarding Shotguns are getting a bit of a bump (better range brackets, new template rules) which makes them easily comparable to Combi Rifles, whereas they were less versatile before, and that's an indirect buff for Farzans. On the other hand, loss of Lieutenant is less crippling so Chain of Command will be less necessary.

Other interesting changes from what is currently public knowledge:
Dogged is being changed so that it effectively grants you one turn of No Wound Incapacitation. This means that you don't have to move your Dogged model in one go and it also means that you can use it in the Reactive turn. I think this means that a link where one of it's members goes Dogged can continue acting normally that turn. The downside is that once a model goes Dogged it can't be healed. Still, this is a pretty sweet buff for Muyibs, Ragiks and Mutts.

Impersonation is getting a slight nerf due to the new Surprise Shot rules. No more combat-camo'ing with Smoke Grenades then hacking people up in combat. Having said that, Boarding shotgun Fidays are going to be ace.

Religious Troops now ignore Retreat completely.

Apart from that, it's hard to say with certainty what is likely to change for Bahram.

Thanks Pete. My ignorance of the utility of the farzan speaks more about my competency to play the game than anything else!

Ooh and you've just reminded me to add those sexy new mutt sculpts to my Christmas list.

Pretty pumped for the new edition.

Well I got my morats starter yesterday for my birthday :) but having trouble on how I should base them I'm thinking a nice cork base but not sure if it would be looked at them being to tall.

Isn't there also rumours of Hassassin visor troops? Govads, I think?

Most stores (Element, Dark Sphere etc.) are expecting stock to arrive with them on the 17th. I believe that CB stated that books should be printed by the 12th and will be shipped then.

So what are people going to be playing when this league kicks off in the new year?

I'll be running my pano or my morats if I get them painted in time :p

Well I was going to play some favour of Haqq, but it seems like there is a lot of that already! Maybe Nomads or PanO instead then...

I think what what we need to do is after Christmas but before the league we all meet up and go over the new rules may have a couple of fun games to try it all out.

Sounds good, is there a particular night in mind. Tuesdays to Thursday's are best for me for example.

Unless they've suddenly made Shas desirable at >200 points (or I get my arse in gear and do some Morats/the new CA Starter), it'll be Tohaa.
