Age of Sigmar Rumours

Postby Ginger Prince » Sat Jul 11, 2015 8:21 pm

What has happened to Slaanesh?

An update
In the Ulgulands – the mysterious Realm of Shadows – entire Chaos armies were swallowed up. Mystic fog banks engulfed everything, and when at last the cloying shrouds dispersed, all that remained of the Dark Gods’ minions was carrion. The followers of Khorne – eager to meet a worthy challenge and scornful of anything that skulked in the fogs- marched in force upon the mist lands. Slannesh's forces came in still greater numbers; speaking of signs that pointed to the whereabouts of their missing God. They blamed Malerion and eagerly sought his whereabouts.

Re: Age of Sigmar Realmgate War/Rulebook Info
Someone has supposedly seen the new book and has posted this
the first 80 pages are Lore about the world, race lore and a small
timeline from the point where the old world ended to the Age of Sigmar

- about 30 pages of miniature gallery with all factions involved

- 110 pages of scenarios (complete with battleplans and lore) and rules
on how to play games in the fire realm and life realm (more of that later)
the battleplans can be played with any army

- lastley 30 pages of warscrolls and battalions inculding new minis:
Lord- Celestant (Same rules as in WD)
Lord Castellant (Ability: damage chaos unit within 12" or +1 save for
a single Stormcast unit within 12")
Gryphon Hounds (2 base attacks, double when near Lord Castellant, when
an enemy unit gets set-up within 10" roll 2D6, every friendy unit within
2D6" of the hounds can make a shooting attack at the enemy unit)
Judicators (4 different weapons to choose, 2 crossbow types and 2 bow
types)
Liberators (Same rules as in WD)

nothing new for chaos
nothing new for Sylvaneth

Some additional (optional) rules for the battlefields:
-Sigmars Storm-
Legion of chaos:
If playing chaos, you can roll 1D6 once per game if your general is
still alive to summon additional units:

3 - 1 Unit of Daemons, no Heroes
4 - 1 Unit fo daemons
5 - D3 units of daemons, 1 hero max and 1 monster max
6 - D6 units of daemons, same as above

Bring down the Tyrant!:
if your general is order or destruction, one per game you can summon
Units from Stormcast Eternals.
Throw an amount of D6 that match the number of turns played.
ex: if you are in turn 3, throw 3D6 in turn 5 throw 5D6.
for every 3+ you can set-up 1 unit with the keyword "stormcast
eternals", 1 hero and 1 monster max

-Sulfur Archipelago-
when playing on a fire realm battlefield you can use these additional rules:

Missle weapons that are shot from 12" or more may reroll to-hit rolls of 1
every kind of scenerey blocks Line of Sight

Wizards can cast Fireballs:
- casting value 5
- 18"
if target unit is 1 model it suffers 1 mortal wound
unit of 2-9 models suffer D3 mortal wounds
units of 10 or more models suffer D6 mortal wounds

Bloodgysier:
place 6 dice on the battlefield (numberd 1-6)
at the start of every herophase roll 1D6 to see wich gysier becomes active.
Units within 6" of the gysier get D3 mortal wounds.
if you got a model with the keywords Priest and Chaos you can add or
substract 1 to your gysier throw.

- Realm of Life -
when playing on realm of life battlefields you can use these additional
rules:

Spontanious growth:
throw 1D6 at the start of your herophase, on 6 you may place 1 Sylvaneth
Wyldwood anywhere on the battlefield (must be flat surface)
if there are models in you way, remove them, place the wood and place
the models as near as possible to their original location.

Blooming life:
when rolling a 1 during a units battleshock test they dont flee. also
you heal any wounds sufferd for all models of this unit.

Wizards can cast Thornshield:

wounds.

Breeze of Pestilence:
- Nurgle Wizards can cast this spell
- casting value 4
- 12"
- choose 1 friendly unit
- enemy units within 3" of the chosen friendly unit have -1 to-hit

3-4: remove the hero
5-6: the hero doesnt die instead he heals all wounds back to full life.

------------------------------
New Battalions:
Stormcast Eternals - Heroes of the Host
1 Lord Celestant (with or without mount)
1 Lord Relictor
1 Lord Castellant
0-1 Gryph Hound units

Special Rules:
add +1 bravery to every Unit of Stormcast Eternals within 6" of any Hero
from this Battalion
if all 3 heroes are within 3" of each other, they may cast Wave of Might
during the herophase, throw 1D6 for every enemy Unit within 3" of this
battalions heroes.
on 4+ the enemy units suffer 1 Mortal Wound and must retreat if possible.

------
other stuff:
Slaanesh:
the book states that the dark prince's throne is empty because he
dissapeard and his followers are fighting for it

there are artworks in the paint schemata section of Bloodwarrios
wiedling two Axes and Bloodwarriors with double-bladed 2H axes (1 blade
on top and 1 blade on bottom)
maybe we will get a box of bloodwarriors much like the once for
Liberators with different options and special weapons.

Saw this. Considering the source, I almost dismissed it entirely, but I recall one of the H's saying something about seeing Bretonnia minis a while ago. If true, it most likely won't be called Bretonnia, but an obvious descendant of that culture.

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212
He basically confirmed a few points and brought up some I've not seen
mentioned.

1) WFB was definitely dying/losing money, so had no future.

2) AoS is aimed at bringing in 40K players, and it is working.

3) Everything currently in the WFB range will not only still be supported,
but also still produced so long as there is demand and the moulds are fine.

4) Bretonnia in some form has survived, and will be distinct from The
Empire - he said that they'd probably be near the top of the list for a big
update. (I know Bretonnia is always 'coming soon' but he said that this was
something the had worried him personally so he'd sought answers.)

5) There is tons of AoS stuff already made and in the release schedule,
Stormcast stuff is just the tip.

Duardin (Dwarf) on Lava-Beasts
In White Dwarf #76 in "The Wars of the Lost" section:

"Only the arrival of a stampede of lava-beasts ridden by strange duardin brought time enough for a few good men to escape."

Seems like the new, evolved Dwarfs will have some type of mount in AoS.

Re: Duardin (Dwarf) on Lava-Beasts
via anonymous sources on Faeit 212 cough...

a quote for the Duardin Fyreslayers

"For enough Ur-gold, the Fyreslayers will fight anyone.

The first strikes of the Stormcast Eternal were against the Chaos foces in Aqushy. Yet other forces rose up to battle also. the flame beareded Fyreslayers emerged from the mountains, marching down the ironways. While Sigmar had alwasy counted the Forge-Father Grungni and his offstpring amonst his closest allies, these Duarddin worshipped the god Grimnir, and were far more mercenary. They fought against Chaos, but only for payment in Ur-gold. More disturbing still, if a counter-offer was generous enough, the Fyreslayters would just as willingly fight alongside Chaos armies."

FAO Dave - there's a snippet in this weekend's White Dwarf about the remnants of the Empire - talks a bit more about warrior priests and war altars so sounds like their aesthetic should be surviving in part at least.

- a lot of fluff
: Tyrion is god of light, he is blind but Teclis is alive and Tyrion can see through Teclis eyes
: Malerion is Malekith, he made some kind of truce with Morathi (she is alive as well)
: both Tyrion and Malerion are on a quest to a) capture Slanesh b) find their people they can feel Elves presence somewhere but there are no Elves on both Light domain and Shadow
: Alarielle is some kind of earth mother she is growing more and more accustomed to form of life

Hints, rumours and leaks of new models for the different armies on Age of Sigmar
This post is an evolving summary of models which have been either rumoured, hinted at or leaked as coming for the different armies in Age of Sigmar. I intend to keep it updated. The idea is pretty simple: gather information regarding possible future releases that come from leaks, rumours or even hints. Wish listing does not count! If I don't update something, feel free to PM me.

1) Stormcast Eternals

Leaked: This week pre-release of Liberators (bows and crossbows)
Next week will see pre-release of Paladins (Retributors: hammers; and two other variantes with swords and axes).
Either next week or the week after pre-release of Prosecutors, including variant with spears and shields.

After that there are no hints in none of the books as to how future models could look. Knight-Azyros (the messengers of Sigmar) is the only used concept I can think of that has not been released or leaked.

2) Chaos

a) Khorne

Rumours have it that after Sigmarines at least two weeks of Khorne releases are coming. They should include Bloodwarriors (new Khorne WoC from the starter set) with different weapons, a new hero called Slaughterpriest and at least one more character, which could be the Deathbringer (source: Atia). Bloodreavers could or not be released apart from the starter set. After that, no more hints.

b) Nurgle and Tzeentch

Greater daemons have been rumoured for a while to be already designed and ready for release. Rumour has it that Tzeentch should have the next released, including the LoC.

Nurgle had a major release with ET and there are no hints about new models apart from GUO. The only concept I can think of that has not been covered are Plague- or Blightwyrms, described several times regarding the War of Life.

c) Skaven

Harry has suggested that Skaven are coming after Khorne. They had a major release with ET, including two centrepiece models (Verminlords and Thanquol) and new monstrous infantry. Apart from those, AoS book focuses surprinsingly on Eshin and Pestilens stuff, without mentioning anything really new. Hint at new Plaguemonks, Gutterruners, assassins? Don't expect anything too massively new for Skaven, as they are heavily used in showcase battles in the different books.

3) Undead

Undead had a massive release during ET, including several centrepiece models (Nagash and Mortarchs), massive infantry (Morghasts) and even smaller stuff (spirit hosts), all with a very similar aesthetic which features heavily both on artwork and showcases in the new books. Only hint at a new aesthetic is a picture of skeleton on much more arcane armour as current kits have them. Don't expect therefore major **** here in the near time.

4) Destruction

Both O&G and Ogres are perhaps the armies who have had no updated for the longest time. Still, both are featured quite heavily on both artwork and showcases, which does not suggest major shifts here. Only hints I could find of new models are Gargantuans. Look at the artwork on the AoS book featuring Savage Orcs fighting Sigmarines a couple of pages before the Lost Ages section. At the back, you can see a couple of massive earth creatures accompanying the army. The earth theme is also featured heavy in many passages, so there we could have a new centrepiece model.

5) Order (apart from Sigmarines)

Unlike all other factions, all order armies except Seraphon are pretty much absent from showcase pictures (except a couple of warrior priests, flagellants and Altar of Sigmar) and artwork (except for the new Fyreslayers). Expect a massive shift here. This is what we know so far.

a) Dwarfs

Two factions: Grugni/normal/metal/Chamon dwarves and Grimnir/mercenary/fire/Aqsy dwarves are distinguished. Of the former we know next to nothing. The only descriptions talk about "cloud armies" or something like that. Not much and no hint of new models. Fyreslayers, on the other hand, have been heavily hinted at: look for future release of slayer dwarves but meaner and with fire effects; including fyreslayers riding lava beasts (likely salamanders after the design of Vulcatrix). Rumour has it that a Golem has also been produced, although that is an old rumour. Fyreslayers, as the only really specifically hinted at order army, could be a near release.

b) Humans

Almost no hints here. Some (perhaps unreliable) rumours suggest that we should look for a shift from a "german" aesthetic to a "germanic" one, meaning more low medieval (carolingian) or maybe even barbarian aesthetic. No humans are featured on the artwork and showcases, except for Warrior Priests, Flagellants and the War Altar of Sigmar. Look for a massive discontinuation of Empire and Bretonnian kits. Some could be salvaged (i.e. Demygryphs)

c) Elves

The most mysterious of all order and maybe overall armies. They are definitely in there, but it is the only army which has neither artwork (with the exception of Malerion) nor showcases at all featured. Look for a massive shift here. Still, we do have a couple of hints:

-Three major orientations: Life (although could do without elves, still unknown); shadow (Malerion); and light (Tyrion/Teclis).
-Life orientation heavily features forest spirits (Sylvaneths). Lifewyrm described here on the maps of Ghyrian as a concept. Also Alarielle's soul pods are said to have many aelfspirits. Unknown if this refers to actual elves or just dryads.
-Shadow orientation is the only one with both conceptual and artwork hints. Conceptual: shadow kin and shadowdaemons are said to be there with Malerion (Malekith). Malerion himself, or maybe a major shadow daemon, also has an Illidan-like artwork picture.
-Light orientation has no hints at all. Overall aesthetic of elves remains the greatest secret of AoS.

d) Seraphon

Only old Order army heavily featured in all levels: artwork, showcase armies and conceptual, including a novel. This could be, however, bad news, in the sense that lizzies are simply frozen in their current aesthetic with no new releases. This is what Harry has hinted at. BUT, on the other hand, Harry has also hinted that we may see something new regarding Seraphon answering a comment about turning to Dragonkin.

I noticed the Slann have a spell which buffs celestial daemons. No idea what a celestial daemon is though so maybe the Seraphon will have those as a new addition.

You're right (except for Kroq Gar who appears to have the Keyword Treeman Ancient but perhaps that's a mistake). So the Lizardmen are a form of daemon now? Interesting...

Fear not citizens, there shall be more for the Sigmarines in the near future as the book is described as containing multiple warscrolls for Stormcast Eternals, Khorne Bloodhounds, Nurgle Rotbringers, Pestilens and more.

Book revolves around the chapters of the Hammers of Sigmar and the Celestial Vindicators trying to reclaim Ghal Maraz from a Chaos Fortress in Chamon (realm of metal) and what remains of Ghyran (realm of life) while at the same time the chapter of the Hallowed Knight try to forge an alliance with the Sylvaneth.

Sorry guys have to go back to work now.
