Thinking about it but don't think I'll have a round base army ready in time! The progress is glacial.

Yep! I'll need to buy some bits, but I'll be ready.

Will have to have a few practice games, to get a feel against different opponents

Mark surely if you stick squares on round bases the corners of the squares will stick out. Could use larger bases but would mean putting cav in particular on huge bases.

They have a base size table for models so you should be ok on the corner front

Not that I could tell. The scenarios made up for a lot, felt like you were in every game - I drew two games on the last dice roll of the game. Similarly I lost one game on the last turn of the game and I only lost game four because the Serphon player double turned due to the engine of the gods, otherwise I was six to two on table quarter scoring.
