Interesting ...

Postby Ruglud » Mon Jun 20, 2016 9:42 am

Hi,
i discovered I have a few minis already for this (a gift from a neighbor who turned up to be one of the sculptor) so I intend to pick up the rules this or next week.

I have seen there are a few books, which ones should i take?

If I were you I'd just grab the core rules for now. The only other possible one to get would be Sellsword as it contains a few new troop choices and Captains but you don't need it to get started.
Flames Of War: Soviets
Team Yankee (6mm and 15mm): Soviets
Bolt Action: Soviets
DUST: SSU aka Soviets (anyone spotted the theme yet?)
Star Wars Armada: Imperials (Space Soviets, a long, long time ago)
Epic Armageddon: Imperials (Space Soviets, in the grim, far future)
Frostgrave: Dwarves (Short Soviets)

.
I have all the supplements (Hunt for the Golum, Dark Alchemy, Sellsword, Thaw of the Lich Lord) if you want to borrow them. I'm going to get them printed off these week and a copy of each left in The Old Duke.

Next out is "Into the Breeding Pits" which will have Gnolls in it, and then after that is Forgotten Pacts (November) which will see Barbarians in Frostgrave. Osprey are also bringing out the "Frostgrave Folio" in March of next year which will be a book containing all the PDF's.

Are you going to be joining us in the Lich Lord campaign Ruglud? We're only 2 games in, and myself or one of the others would be happy to run you through games 1 and 2 so you're on the same level as us all.

Possibly yes it would be great thanks!

But I dont know the rules at all, so potentially from next week could do (after at least a first scan). I have read its not too complex anyway.

I'm happy to run you thru a few tester games so you can get the feel if you like? I'm free every night except Wednesdays.
