Bueno's Beasts

Postby Bueno » Thu Oct 09, 2014 8:52 pm

Having just had our second baby hobby time is in short supply at the moment, but i thought i'd try to keep in the hobby mood (and hopefully motivate me to get some new hobby done despite the lack of sleep) by starting a blog on here.

Here's some pics of my Beastmen for now, but hope to also post some pics of the Ogre army i'm currently working on and maybe some of the empire army i recently painted on commission (if Warren doesn't mind me borrowing them for a couple of hours to photograph at some point)

Holy cow :o .... (no pun intended)

For the cropped pics I think that is the limit for the forum so I don't think it can be changed (Liam will probably prove me wrong, hopefully).
Well, it's been fun.

I can't resize them with BB code through photobucket. Not sure what they do on there end that stops it being possible.

I'll look into adding a module onto the forum that can manually thumbnail or adjust the picture size

Sizing the photos is the only issue with these beauties

What's the hydra model?.

It looks like the Kharibdyss/Hydra kit with a selection of heads from different dragons (HE x2 and DE x2)

Thanks for the comments guys, don't worry if u can't resize Liam, thanks for looking into it.

It is indeed the standard hydra but with HE and DE dragon heads(mostly donated by Jan way back when VWG was open). Also converted slightly to only have four necks, as any more of those higher heads would have been a bit too top heavy

The simplest way to resize the picture is by adding a ?w=xxx, where xxx is a number to the end of the picture. If you add ?w=900 that ususally works well. So, image.jpg?w=930

PS, AWESOME MODELS!

If your photo's are in Photobucket, try this:

Go to your Library,
Click on EDITOR in the black bar at the top (3rd one from the left).
You'll get 2 blue buttons appear, SELECT FROM COMPUTER and SELECT FROM YOUR BUCKET. Click SELECT FROM YOUR BUCKET.
Choose the picture you want to resize.
Click on RESIZE from the menu at the top (in the middle)
You'll see WIDTH and HEIGHT highlighted in boxes.
If you type a number into width (I go with 500) it will automatically resize the height to keep the ratio the same.
Click APPLY
You'll see a blue SAVE button appear to the right with a small white box beneath it saying REPLACE ORIGINAL.
Click SAVE to save a new resized copy of the picture in addition to the original,
or ...
Tick the white box and it will save the resized picture and delete the original.

Hope this helps.

I don't know actually, I've not been able to find the "what's new today" page since they redid the website, I thought they had stopped doing the daily blog.

I did put them on the GW flickr so I guess I gave them permission, but would have expected to be told if being used on the blog lol

Once your on the main page the essieest way to find it is to click the mini White Dwarf book in the top right hand corner. That never moves luckily were as the normal link tends to shift around or not be there at all.

Hope this helps.

I would love to buy these but it would take me a while to save anything like a reasonable offer.

Well the good news (in a way) is that i am keeping the Beasts, in fact they are currently being rebased.

The other good news is that i have finished my first AOS army, I speed painted a destruction force to get me as i couldn't face rebasing the beastmen at the time.
