Really nice work as usual buddy.

What are you using for the black highlights? It looks like grey but when ever I try it my black bisect seems to look more like a dirty grey.

cJ sorry for delay in replying is answered before but clearly didn't submit!

Trick to the black is I don't use black. It's a coat d'arms colour called panzer grey that I actually lighten slightly then highlight with adept us battlegrey before washing with nuln oil.

Done with the engineers team I picked up from Liam at clash of guilds. That's me now painted everyguildball model for the teams I own, but I do have another Blackheart model as got the retail sculpt too, but think I might just flog him as KS one has so much more presence.

Next up is a lovely (and not so little) figure by Mierce Miniatures, it's part of their BaneBeasts line which is a number of variants from their more historical fantasy line in order to add a few more high fantasy elements to models. in this case the original model isn't carrying any weapons and is just a big shouty monster thing but the BaneBeasts model is a very cool Daemon model with weapons in hand.

There were options with the kit to have it carrying a little plague daemon in the front hand and the eye on the head was optional but I preferred the big cleaver and the eye looked cool. The eye on the belly is entirely freehand, I wasn't really sure what to do with it so I asked the guy behind the 'fantasying' up of the models and he suggested a big eye, so I did it! It was just intended as a nice space for freehand of some kind, exactly what had never been thought through.

Oh should point out that is one of the GW large ovals he's on, 90mm by 130mm or something like that from memory. He's a big dude!

Over a month, wow I've been lazy with my updates.

Darklands - a couple more kthones and these guys have been amazing. Pulled out some of my best painting recently as a result.

Image

Still to add weapons to this guy as disliked what the model came with. Gonna be 4 katana style swords.
Image

Finally this guy. For scale that's a 120mm round base he's on. Fecking huge croc!
Image

Aside from those I knocked out the first of my s2 guildball models in the form of the amazing compound model.
Image

And done some work on my dwarfs for AoS with some suitably classic figs.
Image

Image

Then to finish it all of a couple of the oh so characterful rivet wars models.
Image

Image

Actually that wasn't quite all, got my tester done for a 30k army thanks to BoC box for hooking me in!
Image

All in for the year 220 models but a lot higher paint standard than prior years so happy with that.

2016 and the first thing I'm smashing out is a ultramarine landraider, ok it's for epic so less amazing but still was good to get painting.

I want to practice on weathering before doing 30k stuff but not sure epic scale looks as good. Will get a base done up and decide from there.

Some more epic has been finished.

And then I moved to the other end of the mini scale, this picture particularly tickled me.

The model is gomagg, an albainn giant, for the darklands game.

It's January and I always try and smash it out the gate with my painting. To that end I'm hammering my epic stuff, 3 formations done so far.

Image

Plan is to paint up a company's worth of stuff and sundry support units to make it a bit more like what people actually use on the table.

So smashed out 42 models in January in the end.

Image

Image

Dwarfs for AoS. Basing to follow as doing the army including existing painted stuff.

More mierce stuff. Banebeasts dragon, such win.
Image

Aside from that it was mostly the epic stuff above plus a few more rhinos and a saga model and a 30k marine from calth box.

Feb update:

AoS Prince Ulthers unit up to 20

Guildball - couple of s2 models and picked up a masons team so started with Flint (still wip in picture)

Image

Image

Terrain - dragon fate dais and realmgates painted up

Image

And lastly a mate commissions me for some cool models. Criminally undercharged because I just wanted to paint them. First up glotkin.

Mark has come and been and with it another slew of painting. I picked up a new game in the form of bolt action which I bought what I thought was a mostly painted force but it turns out it was only 1/2 painted in the infantry side, so I bashed them out to a pretty basic level.

Image

Plus the whole army of the bits which were already painted, I've now highlighted & tufted up all the bases to completely match.

Image

I also did archaeon as a commission for the same guy as I did the glotkin and both were well received.

Image

My first unit of my saga army finally got finished after painting a test model back in oct last year!

Image

Some more epic marines, now done a full company for them and just the support stuff to come.

Image

And I finished up my dwarfs for SCGT. This was mostly rebasing but I did another gobbolobber and a crewman just to have the right numbers. Pic is of the whole army as its all finally rebased.

Image

Image

And a friend is borrowing my TK for SCGT and wanted Settra so I did my arkhan on flying chariot for him to use.

Image

Oh and some objective markers for frostgrave/AoS

That is all very impressive work but Archaon and Glotkin are really stunning. I actually prefer the Glotkin paint job to the Eavy metal one.
